This page lists all the rules you must follow while interacting in the Server and Forums. Failure to follow these rules will result in you being punished based off the infraction severity.

Ingame Server Rules

These are all the rules that you must follow when playing on the server. Failure to follow these rules will result in the punishment defined in each section of rules that you failed to abide by.

Section 1: Offenses that will usually result in a Permanent Ban due to one or more of the following:

a. Crashing or intentionally harming the server (hack clients can fall under this if you spam FastBow.)

b. Making large edits that can potentially cause massive lag.

c. Repeated offenses, constant trolling and breaking rules.

d. Griefing excessively to the point it is every day for a week that you get banned by one or more of our administrators

e. Repeated trolling

f. Spam advertising (Meaning, spamming more than 5 advertisements a second.)

g. Imposing another administrator. (At least one administrator needs to be imposed in order for the PermBan to be valid)

h. SpamBotting the server. (A SpamBot is a bot that excessively spams the server in order to crash the server. One type of SpamBot is the DeathBot. When this happens, do /toggle lockdown to stop them from joining.)

i. Crash Exploits. (Books, flowers, chests, etc.)

j. Excessively saying comments that are offensive to any players. (Review Section 2)

k. Requesting Donations for this server or spamming for Donations. EXPLODINGFreedom does not accept any form of donations.

l. Administrators that engage in any sort of rogue activities or behaviours.

m. World Edits greater than 100000 blocks without obtaining notice / permission or spamming small world edits that clearly have no building purpose or are purely for trolling. If the server crashes as a result, the offense would normally fall under Section 1 (permanent ban).

n. Threats of DDoS, DoS, DoX, being breached, etc. This is a very serious offense, and anyone caught threatening anyone- Administrators or Operator- they will immediately have an IP scan run on them and permbanned. If a threat to crash the server is also said, (Server DoS), the same will also be applied to those troublemakers as a result of their actions.

o. An OP revealing they have legitimate access to the server logs; revealing could mean anything from pasting logs anywhere (such as pastebin) or telling people info that's inside logs such as IPs, telnet port, etc. Normally this applies to removed administrators but applies to all OPs regardless of how they're getting access to the server logs. Also, it applies off-server; for example if the OP reveals they have actual access via Discord, Skype, Forum, etc. The perm ban will include both server & forum. Falsely claiming to have logs access is not a perm ban offense but is simply a trolling offense below. One exception is if is if the OP reveals they have access to myself or the security officer (Alco RS11) via PM for the purpose of being removed from access or to fix exploit; in this case only, there is no sanction.

Section 2: Offenses that will usually result in a ban for the day due to one or more of the following:

a. Spam advertising more than once per hour (3 advertisements every 3-10 seconds.)

b. Griefing another player's build. (More than 5 blocks noticeably destroyed.)

c. Intentionally aggravating players and staff.

d. Being tempbanned for five minutes for some sort of broken rule over 3 times.

e. Death Potions (potions with a potency of over 129, or health_boost with obscure levels: i.e -125)

f. Imposing an Administrator or player.

g. Excessively spamming commands (More than 2-4 commands a second)

h. Constantly executing PVP Offenses. (Review Section 3 on PVP offenses)

i. Bypassing Temporary Bans more than three times. (/gadmin list can keep them off, look for four letters or numbers (e.g. KM_Galahad - f08d) then do /gadmin ban <hash (i.e. f08d)> if any hashes say "dead", just do a normal GTFO.)

j. *Disrespecting Administrators and Staff.

k. Comments that may be offensive to any player in any way, shape, or form. (Sexism, Nazism, Racism, Discrimination of Sexual or Religious Orientations/Affiliations)

l. Self-harm or suicide threats. For admins, if you don't believe the threat is serious and that's normally the case, (e.g. OP says give me admin or I'll kill myself), immediately day ban them and done. If you really believe the threat is serious (esp. if you know the person or based on what’s said), ban after urging the player once to contact mental health hotline (e.g. tell them to contact the suicide hotline for their country - see goo.gl/T7mFaJ ) and then you should contact the law enforcement authorities in your area and give them the IP of the person (you should have it from the ban), and they will contact the authorities where the person lives. If you can chat with them off-server, continue to urge them to contact their crisis hotline. Keep in mind if somebody is serious and you don't know what you're doing, trying to talk them out of it might push them to do it; let professionals handle it where possible. When I review the situation, I may contact the appropriate authorities if you haven't done so already. If the situation happens on the forum, PM me ASAP. If the player is an admin (not a senior), get a senior admin to remove the admin ASAP, ban them and contact me. If the player is a senior admin, contact me ASAP. The bottom-line is you must stop a player from continuing to talk about self-harm on the server as TF is not a hospital or mental health clinic; refer them as mentioned and end the conversation quickly by banning. In most cases, such talk about self-harm is designed to troll and it won't be tolerated (possible perm ban) but for those that might be serious, referring them to somebody that is qualified to help them is pretty much the only solution we have.

m. World Edits greater than 100000 blocks without obtaining notice / permission or spamming small world edits that clearly have no building purpose or are purely for trolling. If the server crashes as a result, the offense would normally fall under Section 1 (permanent ban).

Section 3: Offenses that will usually result in a temporary ban for at least five minutes due to one or more of the following:

a. Advertising more than once per hour. (2 hour tempban, do not smite, mute, or block commands. It is in this section for a reason, titled Temporary Bans.[Execute this like listed: /tempban <playername> 2h Advertising more than once per hour])

b. Excessive PVP Offenses (Creative, God Mode, Unwanted, Spawnkilling. If any combinations, do a TempBan for at least 10 minutes or more depending on how many offenses are committed by a player.

c. Being smited at least twice for an infraction executed.

d. Minor Grief. (1-4 blocks destroyed on another player's structure.)

e. Excessively nicking other players.

f. Spamming potions.

g. Breaking more than one offense simultaneously.

h. *Disrespect towards Administrators and Players

i. Using FastBow. (Lags the server.)

j. Using Potions to grief another player's build. (Also falls under Section 2.)

Section 4: Offenses that will usually result in a player being smitten due to one or more of the following:

a. PVP Offenses (Review Section 3 for PVP Offenses)

b. Teleporting other players. (Sending them to another location via /tppos, /tpohere, /tpo, and /spawn.) c. *Teleporting to Administrators without permission.

d. Using any speeds over 5. (Any speeds over can potentially lag or crash the server.)

e. Nicking other players. (Harmless or offensive, there is no difference.)

f. Spamming commands (More than 4 commands, one after the other)

g. Attempting to splash potions on another player. (Death/Troll Potions, review Section 2.)

h. Using Hacks that may be annoying to some players. (Speed Hacks (Falls under 4d.), KillAura, BowAimbot)

i. Being a nuisance whilst Administrators are trying to Administrate.

j. Using any other language besides English in Chat. (Other languages may be spoken with others via Private Messages (/msg) or on anything that is not affiliated with the Server.

k. Using nicknames or tags that imply you have an official staff rank on the server. (Tags such as: Moderator/Mod, Adm1n, Owner, etc.)

l. Clearing the Inventory of other players.

m. Invading player's privacy. (Players that Teleport to them even though they’ve asked to be left to their own privacy.)

n. Pasting buildings designed to troll. (E.g. Nazi symbols, suggestive builds, etc.)

o. Changing WorldEdit limit without permission.

  • Depends on the Administrator.

Server Forums Rules and Guidelines

These are forum specific guidelines that you should follow to ensure a positive experience and to avoid sanctions and/or having your posts deleted. These guidelines are in addition to the Proboards Terms of Service community guidelines at www.proboards.com/community-guidelines and the server conduct rules as noted at http://explodingfreedomcentralcity.shoutwiki.com/wiki/Rules. If you believe a forum post violates the guidelines, please flag the post. The rules also apply when using the shoutbox (mainly rules 1 & 2) and the Proboards Community Guidelines applies to PMs as well; if you receive a PM that violates the guidelines, forward it to Alco RS11 or Jayscoob.

1. Personal attacks and flame wars. Attacking other members personally, esp. when combined with juvenile profanities will result in your post being deleted with potential sanctions. You can disagree with another member's post but keep it respectful, and debate the point being made as opposed to attacking the person making the point. Also, do not respond in kind to personal attacks - simply flag the offending post. If you respond to a personal attack with a personal attack, your post will be deleted and you will be subject to sanctions.

2. Power-Posting. Power-posting is over-posting or posting empty, non-sensical, or other useless messages/polls. Such posts are subject to being moved to spam boards or deleted. Posting such messages in the spam sections can still be a violation - if a moderator advises you that's the case, stop it. If you like a post, use the like button as opposed to creating a one word reply and avoid one word response messages that don't add anything (e.g. ok, lol, xD, etc.).

3. Bumping. Posting a single word or useless message to bring new attention to a thread. This is allowed by owner and admins for official purposes to call attention to previous server rule threads, changed policies, etc. On the other hand, if you're just bumping to get attention to a post that didn't get attention to begin with, the bump message and/or the thread is subject to being deleted. Also, if you notice somebody has violated this rule, don't post another message - just PM the person and ask them to remove the post.

4. Necro-Bumping. Posting a message on an old discussion topic. For example, there's a discussion about Redstone that ended 90 days ago and a post is added to continue the discussion. Instead of necro-bumping, make a new thread about Redstone. Necro-bumping may result in the message or old thread being deleted. As for normal bumping, the owner and admins may necro-bump for official purposes. Also, if you notice somebody has violated this rule, don't post another message - just PM the person and ask them to remove the post.

5. Thread Hijacking. This is where somebody replies to an existing thread with a different topic. For example, somebody posts an admin application on a topic that's not for that purpose. The message is subject to being deleted or moved.

6. Misplaced Posts. Place your posts in the correct board for the topic. For example, don't post a question about building in the developers section. Also, while the general discussion category can be for anything, if there's a specific board that fits your topic, use it. Misplaced posts may be moved or deleted.

7. Cross-Posting/Duplicate Posts: Cross-posting is posting the same message in multiple boards and duplicate posts are self-explanatory. Such messages may be moved or deleted.

8. Oversized or Annoying Signature Blocks & Avatars. While this is subjective guideline, an over-sized signature block, an animated GIF/video, or a blinking /scrolling / flashing signature block /avatar are very annoying to most other members or even potentially dangerous for those with epilepsy. The forum administrators can make changes to your profile without notice for violations of this rule.

9. Plagiarizing. Numerous examples and such posts are subject to being deleted. One that's happens too frequently here on this forum is copying somebody else's admin application or the example application. Another example might be copying posts or stories from elsewhere without citation and if you do copy from elsewhere, post just a relevant quote from the story and link to the rest of it as needed.

10. Other. Anything not covered above that is causing general annoyance and disruption. Examples (not all-inclusive): Fake quoting (falsely attributing a quote to somebody else), posting multiple correction messages instead of posting just one or editing the original, posting RL pics of other people or oneself unless obscured, trolling, obnoxious formatting in text or tile (e.g. using all-caps, using max size font for the entire post, difficult to read font or colors, etc), posting in languages other than English (use Google Translate if needed), tag spamming (only tag when essential), e-begging, inappropriate profile pics, spamming likes, and when quoting somebody else, don't include their pics or other media in the quote. As this is very subjective, the forum mod will normally PM to advise of the problem.

11. Forum Games: Allowed only on in the forum games section and posts in the section do not contribute to your post count. Attempts to spam or troll forum games are not allowed and offenders are subject to sanctions per this policy.

  • Those who violate the above guidelines are subject to a range of sanctions including warnings, deletion of offending posts without comment, temporary forum ban, purging of all posts and post count reset to zero, permanent forum ban, and admins who violate guidelines are subject to suspension in addition to other sanctions. If you receive a warning, take immediate steps to comply with these guidelines to avoid more permanent sanctions.
